SYLLABUS FOR THE FOUNDATIONS COURSE
Objectives:
The curriculum for the foundation class has been designed to make an art student fully aware of the following:
Handling tools and texture of various nature.
Understanding colours , texture and value.
understanding basic shapes and form.
Observation of nature and man-made objects.
Relation and inter-relation of space/ shape of form.
Fundamentals of design.
Creativity in self expression.

Syllabii:
       The foundation course will be of one years's duaration and will be common to all the branches in Art Education viz.,
      Fine Art / Drawing and painting
      Sculputre
      Applied Art

The following will be the scheme of teaching in the foundation course, it's subjects and number of hours for each subject for an academic year.

Foundation Course:
Group-1(Theory)
English Language
History of Art and Ideas

Group-2(Practical)
Drawing from Nature
Drawing frpm MMO
Geometry & perspective
Sketching & Memory
Design-2D(including theory of Fundamentals of art)
Design -3D (inculding theroy of Fundamentals of art)
Calligraphy
Colour-practical and Theory

N.B. Evalution of class work including Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Test Examination and other Extra work During the Acedemic Year.
